For every job we do in life there is a reward. We are victorious on completion of our tasks and celebrate with whatever rewards await us. In the world we live in these rewards are apparent from the start and are generally the motivating factor why we carry out these tasks. In the spiritual world rewards aren't apparent to start with making it difficult to comprehend if victory has been attained. In this instance we are blind to the success that comes with living in the spirit of God. Understanding how we live victoriously in God is a means by which we can overcome this.
Testifying of God before and after the fact
In the bible we learn several times of how the prophets testified of God's message to the people long before it came to pass. Carrying out this task takes courage and faith to believe that what we have seen and heard from God will happen as he has revealed to us. If we proclaim our revelations before and after the event comes to pass, then we would strengthen our faith and those of others in God. This is a means by which we can celebrate victory in God. Testifying of what God has done for us only after we see proof misplaces the purpose of our duty to others. We would draw more people closer to God if we can take a leap of faith by proclaiming his name before and after the event.
Peace in understanding during temptation
Irrespective of what we do in life there is a measure to determine what level we have attained in our various tasks. In school tests are carried out to enable us grow and understand our subject better and to enable our teachers assess our degree of understanding. Although the same principle applies to the spiritual world it is harder to comprehend because of the mysterious way by which we are tested or assessed. The truth is God does not need to test us for his benefit because he gives us what we have and knows before hand how we would apply this in our life. In the spiritual world God has given us the gifts to understand what test we face and how to measure our victory over them. The righteous gifts from God are patience, endurance, tolerance, love, wisdom, longsuffering and all other good deeds as listed in the bible. If we are patient in difficult circumstances then we are living victoriously in God. If we endure wholeheartedly with love then we are living victoriously with God. We only have to look at the life of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ on earth to know how we can fulfill these tasks in truth and spirit.
Listening to God's Voice
One of the hardest things to do in life is listen to the voice of God within us when the world is shouting out different messages before us. It is difficult going against the world because of the repercussions that are made apparent to us when we do so. The thing to remember here is nothing is impossible with God. For all the strength that the world may seem to possess it is but a needle in the ocean of what God can do. Our Lord and savior Jesus Christ has overcome death so we do not need to fear this. Listening to God's voice is obedience even in the face of adversity; it is honesty in stating claim to God's word and refuting that of the world, it is obedience to his commandments with integrity even when no one is watching. This is living with victory in God.
Allowing God to take control
No one likes to feel as though another is dictating their lives. No one likes to feel hopeless in a situation believing that someone else has to come to their rescue. However like it or not we aren't as independent or as accomplished as we would like to think. There are some things that are just beyond our understanding. Sometimes counselors cannot mend a broken marriage or relationship. Sometimes there is no cure for certain disease. There is no reason for a war that we do not understand or death and disasters that are beyond our comprehension. However with God there is a greater plan and reason for all things. If we can allow him to take control of our lives we would have better understanding and live victoriously in him.
I am the author of the novels Divinity Dawns and Eli. My most recent book Eli is a spiritual novel that serves as an invaluable guide for anyone conflicted in spirit. It is the second installment of a trilogy that takes the reader deep into the mind and heart of a devout Christian struggling to reconcile his faith with the often hostile reality that surrounds him. Three words that describe Eli are introspective, philosophical and epic.
My hope on completion of Eli was that it offers its readers a greater sense of spiritual awareness in their surroundings.
